M. Jacquelyn Murray (1951-2025)

HAR extends condolences to family, friends and colleagues of longtime real estate professional Mary Jacquelyn Murray, 74, who died on August 6, 2025.

Jackie was born at Fort Bragg Hospital in North Carolina on March 3, 1951. She was adventurous during her teen years in the 60’s, traveling by van across the USA. Jackie eventually settled in Houston, Texas where she obtained her real estate license. She went to work at Sam Feldt Co. in 1983, where she met and married the love of her life, Wayne Murray.

With Jackie’s encouragement in 1987, she and Wayne founded Wayne Murray Realtors, Inc. with only $5,000, opening their first office in the living room of their home. Jackie became one of Houston’s top Realtors, maintaining that position for more than 35 years.

Jackie is survived by her husband, Wayne Murray; her son, Adam Murray, and his wife, Amanda; and her cherished grandchildren, AJ, Olivia, and Owen Murray. She is also survived by her brother, Rob Thomas, and his wife, Linda, as well as her sister, Cindy Durkin, and her husband, John.
