Dr. James Gaines has more than 35 years of experience in a broad array of professional real estate activities. He has also served as President of Rice Center, an urban research center affiliated with Rice University and was an associate professor of real estate and finance at the University of South Carolina.

Dr. James Gaines, Chief Economist for the Real Estate Center at Texas A&M University, who will provide the Texas real estate forecast for 2017.

The 20th Annual Commercial Real Estate Course to be held at the Norris Conference Center at CityCentre in 2016; the course was previously held at South Texas College of Law in Houston’s Central Business District.

The 18-hour TREC-approved course will be conducted on Tuesday, Oct. 4, and Wednesday, Oct. 5. Planned with commercial real estate practitioners in mind, this two-day course provides vital information including current developments, important legal issues, and the economic setting with trends and projections for the Houston area. The course is offered in cooperation with Commercial Gateway/HAR, CCIM Gulf Coast Chapter and other commercial real estate organizations.

Attendees will hear from numerous commercial real estate industry and legal experts including Dr. James Gaines, Chief Economist for the Real Estate Center at Texas A&M University, who will provide the Texas real estate forecast for 2017.

Commercial Gateway, the commercial division of the Houston Association of REALTORS®, is hosting the end-of-day reception on Tuesday.

The Commercial Real Estate Course provides 18 MCE hours (10 elective hours plus eight legal hours) required by TREC including TREC-mandated legal and ethics courses.
