This presentation clarifies the definitions assigned to names by TREC and how our business names can, and cannot, be used in advertisements. TREC rules about names and advertising have been rewritten into two separate rules to provide more clarity to license holders. Now, there is one rule dealing with names, including some additional and new definitions of names. There is another rule dealing with advertising.
We will provide insight as to why TREC has set these new rules. We will provide realistic, and practical, situations to help license holders recognize what is, and is not, compliant. We will show you the steps to be taken to keep TREC advised of names and teams, how the rules are enforced, update you on what needs to be reported by a sponsoring broker and by a license holder. We will address, and answer, some frequently asked questions. Finally, we’ll go over some penalty options for non-compliance.
