HAR reminds all members who are hosting open houses to advise their clients to secure their valuables and remove and/or hide all medications stored in medicine cabinets or other locations throughout the home. We have received at least one report of an attempted theft during an open house in Bellaire on the afternoon of Sunday, March 25. The listing agent reported seeing the guest (a bearded man wearing a baseball cap – see security cam image) rummage through dresser drawers, however he ultimately did not take anything. He had been seen a short time earlier at another open house in the same area. Remember to always put safety first during open houses, showings and all other phases of your real estate practice.
