Traffic to HAR.com surged in July when a property listing in Richmond, Texas went viral. The $1.3 million so-called “Mannequin House,” with mannequins (one suspended from the ceiling) and artwork adorning nearly every room, received coverage in multiple media outlets, including Inman News, Dallas Morning News, Huffington Post, Fort Worth Star Telegram, New York Post, Mashable, KTRK / ABC 13 Eyewitness News and KPRC / Local 2. All stories included links to the property listing on HAR.com, which helped boost hits to the site.

In her feature story, “Real people: Still time for red, white, blue and cool in hottest time of sales year,” Houston Chronicle correspondent Judi Griggs showcased the way several local REALTORS® were spending their summers in the midst of one of the best years on record for home sales. Among those profiled in the July 21 article was HAR Governmental Affairs Advisory Group Co-Chairman Ed Wolff, photographed with his children during Independence Day festivities.

HAR provided local housing data to KUHF / Houston Public Media business reporter Florian Martin to lend accurate perspective to a CoreLogic report labeling Houston as one of four “overvalued” U.S. housing markets. HAR also facilitated an interview with Texas A&M Real Estate Center Chief Economist Jim Gaines, who explained that home construction has been unable to keep pace with local demand. Florian’s story aired on August 7.
