This is your opportunity to nominate someone who you think is worthy of one of the HAR’s annual awards—the REALTOR® of the Year and the John E. Wolf Community Service Award. You may find the nomination forms here. You may also read about the qualifications and nominate someone you know—or even yourself. Good luck!

Speaking of the awards, we will have REALTOR® Celebration in December, but you will want to purchase your tickets now so you don’t miss out. The above mentioned awards will be given out and the new 2017 board officers and members will be sworn in. You may read more about the event and how to buy tickets starting on October 17 here.

While many of the things we do are important, nothing is probably more important to your daily working lives for the remainder of the year than the Supra Lockbox Exchange that will be taking place November 14-18. Mark your calendars now! If you have one or more of the more than 80,000 Supra lockboxes in our system, then you will need to exchange them for the new and improved iBox BT LE, which has a longer battery life, larger key container and supports Bluetooth so no need for a fob any longer to access lockboxes. You may read more about the exchange process and the new boxes here. Note that there are specific locations across the area for the exchange, and they are not being held at any of the HAR offices.

The biggest member event is also coming up quickly on October 13, so this is your last chance to purchase tickets and participate in HAR ENGAGE | The BIG e. Tickets are just $99 for all day, including lunch. There are three different rooms with different tracks: Growth and Development, Social Media and Tech, and Apps and Tech. We have experts from all across the country, so you won’t want to miss it. You may read more about the event and how to purchase tickets here.

There is also a little election coming up that you might have heard about. While the presidential election takes up the majority of the media’s attention, there are also local, county, state and federal races that will be on the ballot on November 8. You may see a list of all of the HAR recommended candidates here. If you aren’t registered to vote already, you have until October 11 to be eligible to vote in the November election. Make sure your voice is heard and your vote counts.

Until Next Month,

Mario Arriaga
HAR Chairman of the Board
