HAR’s shift from the term “master” to “primary” bedroom and bathroom back in 2020 was featured on the daytime game show Jeopardy! in October. HAR was part of the Daily Double answer in the category titled, “Where In The House?” during an episode that aired on Tuesday, October 11. The contestant, Cris Pannullo who was the reigning champion, was given the answer, “In 2020 the socially conscious Houston Assoc. of REALTORS® dropped this 2-word term for where the head of the house sleeps.” The contestant correctly answered in the form of a question, “What is master bedroom?” Pannullo went on to win his eighth consecutive game and accumulated total winnings of $275,502.

As if the mention before a Jeopardy! audience of millions wasn’t publicity enough, HAR received coverage for said mention in Houston Agent Magazine on October 12 and CultureMap Houston on October 13.

On October 19, the Houston Chronicle’s online edition (chron.com) featured an artfully laid out, full-color spread of sold homes to accompany their coverage of HAR’s Most Expensive Homes Sold in September report. The Real Deal also published a story about the HAR report on October 20 and included smaller color images of the homes sold.

Throughout October, Houston Agent Magazine reported on HAR’s Weekly Activity Snapshot (WAS) and featured reprints of part of the report that included the HAR logo, which afforded the Association additional branding recognition.
