danny_podium_ryEach year, the Houston Association of REALTORS® (HAR) honors a member that most personifies REALTOR® in spirit and ethics, through service to his or her profession, peers and the REALTOR® association. For 2014, HAR Immediate Past Chairman Danny Frank, with Coldwell Banker United, REALTORS®, was selected as the most deserving to be so honored.

When HAR informed Danny that he was this year’s recipient of the REALTOR® of the Year Award, he responded, “What an honor to be even considered for this! It’s the highest recognition a REALTOR® can be given by its association and I gladly accept.”

Danny served on the HAR board for several years before his election as 2013 chairman. He also played pivotal roles on various committees that brought about positive change for HAR members and consumers, most notably the HAR Technology Advisory Group. There he led the charge in developing enhancements to our award-winning HAR.com website as well as the HAR.com app that remains the envy of REALTOR® associations around the U.S.

Danny was born in Austin and grew up in Sunrise Beach, Texas on Lake LBJ. When he was six years old, Danny and his family moved to Pearland, which he has called his home and workplace ever since.

After working in the corporate world, Danny found himself with a real estate license in September 2004 and accepted a position with the Keller Williams Realty Pearland office. It wasn’t long before Danny’s success as a REALTOR® enabled him to become a leader, mentor and teacher to others in the real estate industry, and he hasn’t stopped doing so all these years later.

In 2013, Danny joined Coldwell Banker United to work on new and exciting business ventures as a vice president, manager and broker associate.

Danny is passionate about the real estate profession. Asked what aspect he enjoys the most, he said, “The people to people – making people happy to have a place to live.”

Added Danny: “Real estate is not a job. It’s a career. I don’t recommend doing this part time. Very few people can be successful that way.”

Danny definitely does not view real estate as a part-time commitment. He has spent the last several years devoting his time and talents to helping HAR grow and better serve its members. In 2006, just two years after he secured his license, Danny became involved with the Bay Area Advisory group, and in 2008 accepted the chairmanship of that group. He soon began participating as a member of HAR’s Governmental Affairs Advisory Group and became heavily involved with the technology side of HAR – serving two terms as the chairman of the Technology Advisory Group.

Danny has worked hard toward his commitment to lead HAR in developing new, effective and innovative ways to promote the real estate profession for association members. He is particularly enthusiastic about HAR’s new statewide reach. “I am looking forward to the growth and expansion of HAR.com for the consumer and REALTOR® to use the portal to access true and accurate information,” he said.

All of this combines to show why Danny is the obvious choice to be 2014 REALTOR® of the Year.

Congratulations, Danny!
