Recent data collected by the National Association of REALTORS® research department indicates that Houston, The Woodlands-Sugarland, TX region of the country scores eighth when it comes to top U.S. markets for international web traffic. Texas has two such regions in the top 20 with the Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington, TX region coming in at the 20th spot on the list.

The illustration below shows where buyers from different areas of the world search for U.S. properties. Those living in North America make up a third of the listing views and predominantly search both the east and west coasts, Texas and the mid-west section of the states.

People in Northern and Western Europe, along with Western Asia, also search for real estate in the larger cities located in Texas.

The top 10 countries driving international demand of U.S. listings are listed on the right hand side of the slide. On the next page, you can see how this list compares to the top 10 foreign countries that searched for properties on HAR.com in January of this year. Canada topped both lists.
