Make a Difference with NAR’s Broker Involvement Program

It’s common sense that a REALTOR® is more likely to open an e-mail from his broker than from Texas Association of REALTORS® or the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR). The Broker Involvement Program combines the expertise and simplicity of the Call for Action program with direct contact to REALTORS® from their brokers or designated REALTORS®.

Here’s How It Works
When a call for action comes from the National Association of REALTORS®, and soon from the Texas Association of REALTORS®, the first CFA message comes from NAR as usual. If a REALTOR® has not taken action on the CFA after a designated amount of time, a second CFA message is sent to that REALTOR®, but this time it comes from the REALTOR®’s broker or designated REALTOR®. Through the program, NAR discovered that when brokers alert their agents to key issues, agents pay attention and take action.

As a broker, participation in the Broker Involvement Program is easy. Simply enroll your company into the Broker Involvement Program and NAR staff will verify your information and obtain your company logo. When there is a federal call for action, NAR will alert you by phone and e-mail. Your personal e-mail message and the CFA, prepared by NAR, will be available for your review at the Broker Portal. NAR always gives you the choice to participate in a broker call for action.

The program has been proven to work. In a recent call for action issued by NAR, one in four REALTORS® who took action were under brokers enrolled in the Broker Involvement Program. If you are a broker or designated REALTOR®, please sign up for the program today. If you are not a broker, please talk to your broker about the importance and ease of participation.

More than 300 brokers in Texas are currently enrolled. To strengthen member grassroots participating in the calls for action, NAR President Vicki Cox Golder has set a major goal for the Broker Involvement Program: 500,000 agents and 6,000 brokers in the program by the end of 2010. The goal is BIG and the need is BIG. Each state has been given a goal and Texas is currently at only 47 percent of its goal.

Sales agents, take this page and discuss it with your broker. Brokers please sign up.
