July also brought a welcomed boost in inventory that took it to a 2.5-months supply – the most plentiful supply of homes since August 2020. HAR Chair Jennifer Wauhob was a guest on KUHF/Houston Public Media’s “Houston Matters” news-talk show on September 22. She discussed how the Houston real estate market is slowing to a more normal pace, as rising interest rates and prices keep many would-be buyers on the sidelines or pivoting to seek rental homes. The segment ran about 15 minutes.

HAR’s Week 37 Weekly Activity Snapshot received coverage from Houston Agent Magazine in a September 22 story headlined “New listings are up, but closings are still down.” The story featured a reprint of part of the report that included the HAR logo.

HAR’s Most Expensive Homes Sold in Houston in August report received coverage in The Real Deal on September 21.

FOX 26 News consumer reporter Heather Sullivan interviewed HAR Chair Jennifer Wauhob for her September 16 story about how rising interest rates are affecting the Houston housing market.

HAR Board Member Daniela Sumbera was featured in a Spanish language news story on 45/Univision Houston September 11 discussing how consumers are increasingly turning to rental homes to address their housing needs and are paying more for those leases.
