  • CultureMap Houston
  • Examiner Newspapers
  • Houston Agent Magazine

  • Houston Chronicle (online and print editions)

CultureMap cited HAR MLS data that disputed a report from ATTOM Data Solutions about a spike in foreclosures in Houston. MLS Advisory Group member Michael Weaster offered his expertise for the August 21 story as well, confirming that he has not detected a rise in foreclosures and that he personally has only handled two that flooded during Hurricane Harvey.

On August 16, Houston Business Journal web producer Jen Para took online readers on a virtual tour of the 10 most expensive homes sold in July 2018 using data that HAR provided from our MLS. The feature contained a gallery of color photos of the properties courtesy of the listing agents/brokerages cited in the report.

HAR provided historic Heights MLS data to Houston Chronicle real estate reporter Nancy Sarnoff for a series of early September stories that she wrote about the sale of civic leader, historic preservationist and real estate executive Bill Baldwin’s Bayland Avenue home in the Woodland Heights neighborhood.

Former HAR Chair Chaille Ralph commented to the Houston Chronicle in her capacity as a member of HAR’s MLS board about the wave of disruptive real estate start-ups flocking to the Houston market – among them Opendoor and REX. She said it’s “not abnormal — when the market is strong — to see the different models grow in the market.” The article, by the paper’s newest real estate reporter, Rebecca Schuetz, published on September 5.
