Inman News and other media outlets, including the Houston Business Journal and Houston Chronicle, reported on HAR.com’s exciting new Drive Time consumer home search tool between late January and early February. Additional coverage is in the pipeline. The press release announcing the innovative feature along with the HAR.com logo was projected on the huge digital Thomson Reuters screen in the heart of New York’s Times Square on January 29.

National media are showing more interest than usual in the Houston housing market as a result of declining oil prices and diminished inventory. The January 2015 MLS release generated mid-February coverage in the Wall Street Journal and CNBC, both of which cited HAR Chair Nancy Furst’s quote: “January was a strong month overall for the Houston housing market, but we still expect to see sales cool as a result of lower oil prices and the limited supply of homes.”

On February 6, Nancy was a guest on the KUHF/Houston Public Media “Bauer Business Focus” with host Andrew Schneider. Nancy discussed growth expectations for the Houston real estate market in 2015, explaining that lower oil prices will create a “normalization” for housing coming off a record year.

KPRC-TV/Local 2 reporter Jayce Larson interviewed Nancy for a February 6 story about property tax increases across the Houston area. While a spokesman for the Harris County Appraisal District discussed taxes, Nancy provided expertise on what parts of town are expected to see strong housing growth in the months ahead.
