The Houston Association of REALTORS® is making headlines! Here’s a look at some of the media coverage our organization has received over the past few weeks.

HAR’s November 2014 MLS news release and accompanying Houston Housing Minute video update, reporting that sales were brisk despite the start of the holiday shopping season, generated coverage from mid- to late December in the following media outlets:
• Community Impact Newspaper
• CultureMap Houston
• Examiner Newspapers
• Houston Business Journal (online and print editions)
• Houston Chronicle (online and print editions as well as Prime Property real estate blog)
• Houston Community Newspapers
• KHOU-TV (11 News)
• KPRC-TV (Local 2)
• KRIV-TV (Fox 26 News)
• KTRH (NewsRadio 740)
• KTRK-TV (13 Eyewitness News)
• KUHF (Houston Public Media)

HAR occupied most of the real estate section of the Sunday, January 4 real estate section of the Houston Chronicle with stories and color photos about the swearing in of 2015 HAR Chair Nancy Furst and the HAR Board of Directors at REALTOR® Celebration; Danny Frank’s honor as 2014 Realtor of the Year; and Mike Huff’s honor as recipient of HAR’s 2014 John E. Wolf Community Service Award.

HAR Immediate Past Chair Chaille Ralph was a guest on KHOU-TV/Channel 11’s “Great Day Houston” talk show on January 6, discussing the incredible strength of the Houston housing market with host Deborah Duncan as well as the beta version of HAR.com and its exciting features. Chaille also shared tips on how sellers can make a home more marketable – with the help of a REALTOR®, of course.

On January 6, Inman News announced its distinguished list of 33 individuals who are changing the real estate industry, and it was little surprise that HAR President and CEO Bob Hale was among them. Notables include Gary Keller, Dottie Herman, Pete Flint, Spencer Rascoff, Sherry Chris, Alex Perriello, Austin Allison, Dave Liniger, Marc Davison, and Mauricio Umansky (for those who may watch “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills”). Bob is the only MLS/association executive on the list.

Real estate consultant and industry expert Stefan Swanepoel released his annual Power 200 list of the most powerful people in real estate on January 14. HAR President and CEO Bob Hale was included on the inaugural list last year and once again appears on the list this year. Bob is included in the “organized real estate category,” coming in as the fourth highest person in that category – behind only NAR CEO Dale Stinton (6), NAR SVP Sales and Marketing Bob Goldberg (30) and CAR CEO Joel Singer (32). It should be noted, however, that Bob is the highest ranking MLS executive on the list.
