This is the second in a series of three articles about a brand-new HAR member conference on October 13, called The BIG e.

The BIG e was created from a desire to deliver the best HAR member educational and networking experience possible.

Last year it was decided we should offer HAR members a robust, one-day real estate conference that we haven’t had before in the Houston area. That being our objective, we then went about enlisting some of the best and brightest real estate professionals in the city and surrounding areas to steer us in the right direction.

First, 2011 HAR Chairman of the board, Carlos P. Bujosa, then the Chairman-elect, appointed Lorraine Abercrombie with Greenwood King to be the conference’s chair. Lorraine graciously accepted and went to work assembling an advisory board like no other.

Members of The BIG e advisory board include:

Christi Borden of Prudential Gary Greene, REALTORS®

Tiffany Curry of Prudential Gary Greene, REALTORS®

Margie Dorrance of Keller Williams Realty Metropolitan

Cheri Fama of John Daugherty, REALTORS®

Cindy Hamann of Coldwell Banker United, REALTORS®

Paige Martin of Keller Williams Realty Memorial

Dovie Morgan of Martha Turner Properties

Chaille Ralph of Heritage Texas Properties

Courtney Rose of George E. Johnson Development

Amy Smythe-Harris of Realty Associates

They are all experienced professionals in the industry and between them have served in numerous leadership positions, not only in the HAR community, but the community at large. And perhaps more importantly, they all welcome fresh, innovative ways of thinking and delivery of ideas.

The advisory board has been essential in the creation of The BIG e. They supported the idea of hosting the one-day conference at the Norris Conference Center in City Centre, located at Beltway 8 & I-10, which is now considered the center (in population density) of the greater Houston area.

They want education and networking to be the two most compelling reasons you attend. There will be more than 20 forward-thinking presenters who will not only share exciting new ideas but also cause you to think!  Some will make you think about the way you do business and about the overall experience you are currently providing your clients.  Others will offer modern ideas you can implement immediately and realize a direct correlation to your bottom line. These are bold assumptions, but the intent is for you to greatly benefit from this HAR conference.

By the time you read this, the conference website will be live. The address is www.har.com/thebige and the conference date and schedule, speakers and topics, conference registration, MCE course information and the after-hours networking details are posted there.

Until next month, I hope your experiences are good ones!
