Don’t Miss The 2010 New Home and Remodeling Show

The Greater Houston Builders Association (GHBA) has partnered with Frontier Custom Builders and Best Buy to promote its 2010 New Home & Remodeling Show through the distribution of more than 400,000 free tickets at 30 participating Best Buy stores. Tickets will be available on May 29, 30, 31, June 5, 6 and the June 12 and 13 show weekend. No purchase required; each ticket is good for one free entry to the consumer home show, GHBA’s largest public event of the year.

“We do charge admission at the doors, but with a little pre-planning everyone can get into this year’s fabulous show for free,” says show director Lyn Foster, who adds that the free tickets are being made possible by Frontier, Best Buy and Builders Mechanical, Inc., who will all exhibit at this year’s show. “Frontier is building the biggest and most beautiful showcase home ever created for us. It takes up 3,500 square feet in the center of the exhibit hall and is surrounded by sculptured landscaping, custom pool concepts and outdoor accents.”

Inside the showcase home are exquisite custom design elements, formal living and dining areas, a state of the art kitchen, stone and ironwork, inspiring interior decorating, home automation and elaborate finishes and millwork. In the back is a summer kitchen, with a bridge leading to a garden-bordered fire pit. “It’s a true masterpiece of construction by one of Houston’s premier custom home builders, perfectly blending luxury and functionality,” Lyn says. HAR members can visit participating Best Buy stores for free tickets to share with their clients. “We’re providing hundreds of thousands of them, so please, take as many as you’d like.”

The show includes new home builder and remodeler exhibitors and a wide variety of home-related products and services. More than ninety per cent of the exhibiting companies are members of the GHBA, the fourth largest HBA in the country and the largest in Texas. Attendees are encouraged to bring the whole family and enjoy special events and show features, such as the roll-out of Green Built Gulf Coas’s new ANSI-approved ICC-700-2008 green building program; Susan Fruit Interiors presents “Design Trends & Friends,” hosted by GHBA remodeler member Susan Fruit, ASID; the only Houston interior decorator who is also a certified graduate remodeler; a full schedule of educational housing seminars and how-to remodeling, decorating and gardening workshops; Healing Species of Texas “Barkitecture” doghouse raffles; a live Radio Disney show on Sunday afternoon, featuring music, games and giveaways; an appearances by Astros mascot “Junction Jack” at HomeAid Houston’s “Astros Dugout” being raffled to benefit the charity.
