The spring homebuying season is here, and I’m encouraged by what I’m seeing in our market. Although sales have declined slightly, buyer interest is still strong, with more showings and a noticeable jump in pending sales. It feels like we’re moving into a healthier, more balanced spring market. You can dive into the full update on pages 8 through 12.
One area that continues to stand out is the luxury market. We’re seeing continued interest from both local and relocating buyers who recognize the value Houston offers. Compared to other major cities, our market still delivers more space and opportunity at a price point that’s hard to match. You can read more about this trend on pages 40 through 41.
Every April, we recognize Fair Housing Month. It’s an opportunity to reflect on the progress we’ve made—and the work that still lies ahead. As REALTORS®, we have a responsibility to help create a more inclusive and equitable housing market, and that starts with the way we serve our clients every day. You can find helpful resources and a consumer guide on pages 26 through 29.
If you’re looking to stay connected and informed, I encourage you to check out Commgate’s Developer Showcase on April 29 at the Houston Country Club. It’s a great chance to learn about new developments across the region and connect with others in the commercial space. More details are on page 17.
Keep an eye out for HAR’s latest consumer ad campaign when you’re watching TV. It highlights what makes HAR.com such a trusted resource for buyers and sellers, and it’s reaching consumers across a wide range of platforms. Take a look at the new spots on page 16. You’re going to love them!
