As we head into the final months of the year, Houston’s housing market continues to adjust. Higher mortgage rates have buyers thinking a little harder about their decisions, but there are still opportunities out there. With more homes to choose from and prices holding relatively steady, buyers have options. Check out the latest market trends on pages 8-11.

I’m also looking forward to HAR’s Housing Symposium on November 19. This year’s Survivor-inspired theme, Thriving, Not Just Surviving, is especially fitting as we tackle some of the biggest challenges facing our housing market. From affordability to rising costs and regulations, we’ll cover issues that affect your business every day. You can find registration information on page 21.

November is here, and I hope you’ve made your plan to vote! The decisions made at the ballot box can have a real impact on our industry, our clients and our communities. Election Day is November 3, so don’t forget to make your voice heard. You find a voting checklist on pages 12-13.

One of my favorite things about HAR is getting to celebrate the amazing people in our industry. Congratulations to our 20 Under 40 Rising Stars in Real Estate! These young professionals are already making their mark, and I can’t wait to celebrate them later this month. You can learn more about this year’s winners on pages 26-29.

I also want to congratulate our 2026 HAR Annual Award winners, Chaille Short, REALTOR® of the Year, and Courtney Johnson Rose, recipient of the John E. Wolf Community Service Award. Both represent the very best of our association, and I’m looking forward to honoring them at the REALTOR® Celebration next month.
