HAR’s MLS Update for September 2011, reporting the fourth consecutive month of increased sales and all-time September high average and median prices, generated coverage from mid- to late October in the following media outlets:

The NRG ’20 Under 40 Rising Stars in Real Estate Awards’ story garnered prominent play on the front page of the Sunday Houston Chronicle real estate section on November 13. The article featured a full-color photo of the winners.

The Houston Chronicle Prime Property blog profiled HAR’s new iPad app in a November 9 write-up.

CultureMap real estate columnist Ralph Bivins cited HAR market data in his October 25 article about how tough economic times have left Houston home remodelers with lots of small jobs.

HAR chairman Carlos P. Bujosa was quoted in an October 21 Inman News feature by Steve Bergsman entitled “How Houston dodged the housing bubble.” The first paragraph of the upbeat story reads: “If you’re looking to make a long-term bet on the housing market, then the place to start is with one of America’s largest cities: Houston.”

HAR Immediate Past Chair Margie Dorrance was quoted in Jennifer Dawson’s Houston Business Journal article about HAR-ETS, a new paperless transaction service that HAR is offering member brokerages. The article, entitled “HAR launches green initiative to save Realtor® resources,” published on October 21.
