What You Need to Know to Vote in 2020

We are now one month away from Election Day and this year voters have more ways to cast their ballot and more time to do so. With the COVID-19 pandemic lessening but still present around the country, many states have made it safer and easier for people to vote. That is true in Texas where major safety steps have been taken at the polls and drive up voting has been implemented in some areas. The Governor also extended the early voting period by six days to give people more time to head to the polls. Lastly, mail in voting is an option for voters who are 65 years or older or disabled.

Important Dates to Know

  • October 5 – Last Day to Register to Vote
  • October 13 – First Day of Early Voting by Personal Appearance
  • October 23 – Last Day to Apply for a Ballot by Mail (Received, not Postmarked)
  • October 30 – Last Day of Early Voting by Personal Appearance
  • November 3 – Election Day

How to Know Where to Vote

*some counties have different polling locations for early voting and election day so don’t forget to double check your polling location before you head to the ballot box
