Updated Information Regarding HAR Office Closures and More

In an effort to slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus and protect our members and staff, all four HAR offices will be closed until further notice, beginning Wednesday, March 18. We will continue to serve our members via phone, email and chat for any needs you might have.

All HAR in-person classes previously scheduled between March 18 and April 30 have been moved to a virtual format. If you were already registered for one of these classes, you will receive more information from the Education Department. You may also take advantage of our partnership with the CE Shoppe by using the discount code HAR35 to take online courses. That discount code is good until the end of May 31, 2020. You may find those courses at www.har.com/education and choose the online education tab.

Any HAR in-person meetings and events that were previously scheduled have also been cancelled or postponed until further notice.

If you need to purchase any items, including lockboxes, from the HAR SuperCenter store, you may purchase them online at http://store.har.com. You may either have them shipped to you, or you may pick them up at the HAR Central loading dock (west side of the building) between 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., Monday through Friday. All orders must be placed online in advance.

We know many of you are continuing to conduct business, so we want to remind you to utilize the available HAR tools that can help you work or interact with your clients remotely. You may view the HAR tools at https://www.har.com/content/tools and the MLS tools at https://www.har.com/content/page/mls_services.

If you missed our Member Focus Monday on Facebook Live on Monday, March 16, you may view a recording of it by going to our Facebook page HERE. We were joined by Dr. Maria Elena Bottazzi from the Baylor College of Medicine. She and her team are working on a vaccine for the novel coronavirus, so it was a very informative and factual program. We also answered questions members had about how this impacts open houses, driving clients to showings, legal issues, and more.

Obviously, this is a rapidly changing situation, so please stay tuned to all of HAR’s communications channels for any updates. Again, we assure you that all of our services will still be available online, by phone, email or chat. We will get through this.

Stay safe…and wash your hands!

  • I signed up for an online HAR Platinum Lead class but how do I log in to take the class? I have searched HAR.com and my email receipt has no information either.

  • I am unclear if Fort Bend County’s order allows for meeting with potential listing clients and to show homes. Where can I find HAR’s opinion on this?

    • David, we are now being told by the Fort Bend County Attorney that they “hope” to issue a revised order on Wednesday, 4/1. Because developments are occurring so rapidly, with the governor issuing an order of his own today (Tuesday), we are urging all members to consult the FAQ at http://www.har.com/coronavirus at least a couple of times a day, as that is where our staff is posting updates as soon as new information becomes available. You might want to bookmark that site as it will most likely be a member go-to for the next few weeks.

    • That rule does not go into effect until 5/1. Current rules only require you to submit HAR300 if there is going to be more than a 3-day delay in entering your listing into the MLS. HAR is working on a “Coming Soon” status that will allow you place the listing into this status prior to going Active in the MLS. This status will be available before 5/1.

  • If we take the Legal classes on line will we need to go somewhere to take a test? My license expires June 30th.

  • How do I go about getting my supra key? Can this be done virtually somehow if I am planning on using the Supra app on my phone?

    • You can go to store.har.com and purchase a Supra key and any of the other items in the SuperCenter and have them shipped or schedule for pick up at the HAR Central loading dock (west side of the building) from 11am-1pm, Monday though Friday.

  • I am a real estate agent in Cypress Texas serving Cypress, Katy, Sugarland, the Woodlands, Houston and surrounding areas. Due to the coronavirus and lack of consumer confidence, real estate agents, like many other businesses have taken a financial hit during what is typically the beginning of busy season. Most real estate agents like myself are contractors. So, typically we would not qualify for unemployment. Many of my clients have decided to wait until after the virus passes and the market improves to Purchase a home. This leaves me and many others in a contractor position without an income. Are there any financial resources available that can assist during this trying time?

    • Connie, NAR is pushing for independent contractors to be included in any federal stimulus package. If we learn about additional resources that are available, we will be sure to share with the HAR membership. We know that this is an exceptionally challenging time for so many of our members.

  • hello I had scheduled classes to renew my license for GRI: Contract to Closing this coming April 16-21 for my SAE. My license expires in May. Will an invite be sent to our emails to take the virtual classes. TIA

    • We hope to be able to still hold this class virtually but are waiting on Texas Realtors to see if students will be able to take the end of course exam online. If not, we won’t be able to offer the virtual class and will give you a refund. We have a discount code available with the CE Shop if you need to complete your SAE online before the end of May. Click the link below and enter HAR35 at checkout for 35% off.

    • You can go to store.har.com and purchase any of the items in the SuperCenter and have them shipped or schedule for pick up at the HAR Central loading dock (west side of the building) from 11am-1pm, Monday though Friday.
