HAR is Changing with the Times

As you can see from the cover of this month’s magazine, the New HAR.com site has gone live. It is the culmination of nearly a year of work, analyzing what worked as it was and what could improve. I think the new site looks fantastic, and I hope you and your clients will as well. If you haven’t already seen the new site, you may see pictures of it here…or just go to HAR.com to see for yourself. The login process is slightly different, so make sure you take note of that.

February market statistics showed a decline in sales volume for the first time in six months. Many members are still seeing great activity, but the overall numbers are what they are. Prices continued to rise, something that economists have predicted would continue in spite of lower oil prices and low available inventory. You may read all about it here. I know that all of us are still glad to be living and working in the greater Houston area though.

One of the best things I have done professionally is running for the HAR board of directors. This is the time that anyone who is interested may submit your application to run for the 2016 board. While the HAR staff is incredible, it is the board of directors that gives them direction and provides insight from the membership. You could be part of helping to shape the best REALTOR® association in the country. The application deadline is June 8, but don’t wait until the last minute to file to run. One of the most important days of the year is coming up in April. I’m not talking about Tax Day but rather REALTOR® Lobby Day in Austin on Tuesday, April 14. Thousands of REALTORS® from across the state will converge in Austin to make our unified voice heard to our state elected officials. As you know, we only have this opportunity once every other year, so this is something you don’t want to miss. There is power in numbers, so we want to have a great showing.
