Whether you are an agent or broker, newbie or vet, HAR’s BIG e conference not only has what you want, but what you need. So what keeps past attendees coming back every year? We reached out to a few of them to see why they have participated in The BIG e conferences and why they look forward to returning this year. Here’s what they said:
Susan, you have attended HAR’s The BIG e conference all three years it has been in existence. Why?
The concept of The BIG e really resonated with me the year HAR introduced it. Instead of a trade show or an expo, this event promised real value to our members.
With all of the changes in technology that were and still are affecting our industry at that time, I was compelled to go and learn the trends that would impact the way that I transact business in the coming years.
Even as a younger REALTOR®, I felt like I was behind the curve with technology. After attending the inaugural BIG e – I was hooked! I learned practices, systems and strategies that I was able to implement right away. My entire business model has changed for the better thanks to my attendance at The BIG e events. I’ve increased my productivity, confidence and income thanks to actions I took based on knowledge I gained at the events.
This is not a conference full of good ideas that you’ll never use! It is full of good ideas that you can translate into your daily work immediately. It makes good business sense to attend The BIG e. It is the most important business development date on my calendar each and every year. I am such a believer that all of my agents are signed up to attend and I even joined The BIG e Advisory Group to help support this worthwhile event.
This year you are serving on The BIG e advisory group, what’s going to be different this time?
I didn’t think last year could be topped but this year is going to be a powerhouse full of relevant, timely and valuable information. This year’s event offers the latest time-saving and income-boosting tech strategies, along with business development to help you achieve your financial goals and help simplify the administrative part of running your own business.
Agents: We have great topics on how to plan for success, how to stay safe, converting leads into sales and how to differentiate you from other agents.
Brokers: Listen up! We have special sessions just for the unique challenges that we brokers face. There is something for everyone at this year’s BIG e!
You will not want to miss my favorite speaker, returning again to challenge and inspire us, HAR crowd favorite Terry Watson and the always fun reception after the conference ends, sponsored by NRG. It is our goal that members leave this event fully satisfied in their choice to attend and that everyone walks away excited to hit the ground running with new knowledge, new goals and new friends!
What is the No. 1 reason other REALTORS® who have never attended should be at this year’s conference on October 23?

Roxane, you have attended HAR’s The BIG e conference all three years it has been in existence. Why?
The year I attended the first BIG e, I did not know what to expect. What I found when I arrived was a series of meetings comprised of general sessions and breakout sessions on focused topics. I could move from room to room exploring different topics which were of interest to me. I was impressed at the quality of the national guest speakers who proved to be entertaining while being informative.
I have since been serving on The BIG e advisory group. HAR has continued to improve the overall experience by reviewing the previous year and fine-tuning the event.
This year you are serving on The BIG e advisory group. What’s going to be different this time?
In my mind, The BIG e stands for Education. The event offers discussions on the latest apps, the importance of social media, and agent branding. Other topics which are beneficial to any REALTOR® deals with your personal success grounded in successful practices. Having the opportunity to hear guest speaker Terry Watson is worth the whole day!
It is imperative that we continue to immerse ourselves in the ever-changing business of real estate. This is an industry that is altering at lightning speed and it is necessary to be aware of the effects of those changes. This is a day that brings some of the brightest in the industry to assist you in growing your business and adjusting to those changes.
