Election Day is Saturday, May 14, 2011: Have You Voted Yet?

With the Early Voting period now over, local election candidates are hitting the pavement more than ever to garner the support of those who will be voting on Election Day, this Saturday, May 14, 2011.

Houston Association of REALTORS® Recommended Candidates are no exception to this last-minute push to get the voters out, and they are enlisting the help of our Political Affairs Advisory Leadership (PAAL) groups in Sugar Land and The Woodlands. These groups of volunteers will spend these last days before voting making phone calls to voters on behalf of The REALTOR® Party, passing out push cards for supported candidates, and showing up at the polling locations on Election Day to rally for HAR Candidates.

The Woodlands Township Recommended Candidates:

Nelda Luce Blair, Position 5 – Uncontested

Peggy S. Hausman, Position 6

Bruce Tough, Position 7 – Uncontested

Sugar Land City Council Recommended Candidates:

Donald Smithers, District 1

Amy Mitchell, District 3

Frank Yonish, District 4

The HAR Recommended Candidates were chosen by local REALTORS® after extensive interviews of all candidates running for the respective positions. These local REALTORS® felt the candidates chosen would best protect the interests of area REALTORS® , real estate issues and the community as a whole. They also agreed those candidates selected would provide the leadership needed to continue the area’s economic growth and stability, while protecting the lifestyles of its residents.

Election Day polls are open in both Sugar Land and The Woodlands from 7a.m. to 7p.m. on Saturday, May 14, 2011. For a list of the polling locations for each precinct, please click the links below:
